Champagne Classic Tournament – Women’s Rugby Referee Training Venue

March 3-4 was the San Diego Surfers annual Champagne Classic Rugby Tournament. This is a well known tournament in the US that is a women’s only event. This year the referee organizer Luann Campbell brought in all women referees to officiate the event. As well as a training venue for these referees, there were also two evaluators on site to provide assessments and coaching for the referees. The hope is that this tournament will be used every year to bring in women referees for training and evaluation.
