A potential recruits most powerful tool is her own Rugby Highlight Video

Now that rugby has truly become a global sport and their are opportunities opening up for players around the world your most effective selling tool is your own personal rugby highlight video. This morning on Youtube I did a quick search for rugby hightlight videos and found very few of them for female players. There is not one rugby football club that I recruit for that does not ask up front to view video of a player. They also do not want to see hours of game film , they want a short 4-8 minute highlight video and it needs to be accessed easily thats why I think you tube provides the best linkage.

With more division one schools starting to offer scholarships the need for high school players to think about a video is also very important in that process as well.

Take some time and have a look through the various videos below to get an idea of the different formats.

They all have similar formats, before making you own video I would suggest you take some time and list down on papers the key skills required for your position for example running with the ball , passing the ball , catching the ball , tackling , rucking , mauling etc. Make sure who ever is taking the video that they capture you demonstrating these skills in the games played. Often a number of games need to be filmed inorder to get 4-8 minutes of highlights. You need to be patient but in the end you will have a vewry valuabled tool.

I look forward to being able to view online several hundred femal rugby highlight videos!
