Small College Women’s Championships – Nov 17-18, 2012

The final four teams to the 2012 NSCRO Women’s Small College National Championship have been determined.

Region 1 – Northeast Championship match on Sunday, Nov. 11 at Mount Holyoke College in S. Hadley, MA. Roger Williams defeated Castleton State 48-0 with a strong second half showing.

Region 2 – Empire New England Championship match on Nov. 11 at Mount Holyoke College in S. Hadley, MA. Wheaton handled SUNY Plattsburgh 58-0.

Region 3 – Mid-Atlantic Championship match
On Nov. 11 at Mount St. Mary’s University in Emittsburg, MD, Albright with 2 late trys beat William & Mary 41-31.

Region 4 – West Championship
On Nov. 4 at St. John’s University in Collegeville, MN, the match was dominated start to finish by the Great Plains RFU Champ Wayne State College in defeating the Minnesota RFU Champ, Bemedji State 86-0.

The 4 Regional Champions will now meet in the Small College National Championship on Nov. 17-18 in Cherry Hill, NJ.

We are also pleased to announce that Martha Daines, the Head Coach of USA Rugby’s Women’s Collegiate All-American team, will attend the event. She will be there to see first-hand the skill level of small college players and also be part of the “selection” committee who will pick the “All-NSCRO Championship XV” team and the Event MVP. This is another way USA Rugby is showing its commitment to Small Colleges.
