RWC 7s Day One – by David McPhail

Arrived in Moscow on Tuesday evening and was worse for the wear.

photo (2)Forgot to eat after being pick pocketed on the way out of Saint Petersburg and the day went down hill from there.   What could go wrong did go wrong as I blame it on my poor frame of mind and forgetting to eat must have dropped my blood sugar to zero as I was staggering in the rail stations and in the room until I finally made my way to a local market for food.  A poor nights sleep followed.

Got up bright and early and made my way to the stadium for the 9am published time for packet pick up.  Nobody there.   Found a gal from Canada (they are everywhere) who sent me to the players village where the make the media passes.  They tried to send me back to the media center but took pity on me and issued a pass anyway.  I came back to the media center just in case and to sign some form.  Still hardly anyone here and nothing going on.

I am going to head into town and try and do some sight seeing while I can and have the motivation which has been waning.

Will try and get some interviews going on Friday AM with USA Women and Men who train between 8-9am.

Check out David’s pictures from the trip (more photos added daily) here.
