Announcement of new Executive Director for SoCal Youth Rugby

After receiving 60+ resumes from all over the world and conducting numerous interviews we are happy to announce that Alexandra Williams has accepted the position of Executive Director for SCYR.

Alexandra Williams comes to SCYR with a wealth of leadership experience in rugby in the United States. A former Eagle captain, she competed with the Women’s National Team for ten years before moving on to coaching roles with top women’s club and All-Star teams, as well as with the WNT. Formerly a management consultant, her most recent position was as USA Rugby’s Women’s High Performance Manager, responsible for all women’s national team programs. In addition, Ms. Williams played a key role in the creation and on-going success of the Women’s Premier League.

Ms. Williams passionately believes that youth rugby is the key to the continued growth and expansion of rugby into the mainstream U.S. sport culture and is excited to be involved with the clubs, administrators, athletes and parents who have built Southern California Rugby from the ground up.
