College Management Council approves new eligibility regulations

The USA Rugby Collegiate Management Council has approved a new set of eligibility regulations. Overall it seems to be a good change, much simpler! Generally we feel that the 7 year window to play out your 5 years of eligibility is an average effort. But, is it solving all the problems with eligibility in regards to collegiate players? We feel there could be exceptions for military (more below) and or missionary work, what do you think?

For giggles you can also read the NCAA Eligibility rules here. They require a bit more including grade standards and clearance to become a student athlete. Interestingly enough the NCAA just restored military eligibility in August 2013 for one man, read more on that here.
