Tiger Rugby Cub Women’s Development 7s Team – Cancun 7s

Cancun 7s kicks off this weekend and Julie McCoy has let us know that she is taking a Tiger Women’s Development Team. If you aren’t familiar with the Tiger Rugby Olympic Development Academy it exists to develop world class athletes and accelerate the growth of the game of rugby. Based in Columbus they have recently expanded to have an Academy in SoCal. The Academies have also recently expanded to include more facilities such as on-site housing, indoor fields and full gyms.  This is the first time a women’s team has been formalized to represent the Academy. You will notice that the team below includes a 16 year from Summit HS and two Women’s National Team 7s Eagle Players, so the range of experience and age of these players is fascinating. McCoy has always been specialized in finding unlikely or overlooked players and turning them into world class rugby players, we can’t wait to see what she can do with this team and with Tiger Rugby!

The matches at Cancun 7s will be played El Rey Polo Country Club, Cancún & Playa del Carmen and the Tigers will be up against a few National Teams:
