WANTED: Old Dominion University Women’s Rugby Coach

Old Dominion University RugbyOld Dominion University, public research institution in Norfolk, Virginia,  invites applications for the position of Women’s Club Rugby Head Coach. ODU’s Women’s Club Rugby is a Division II team in the Capital Conference. The student-run organization was established in 2010; our executive board is responsible for logistics, including recruiting, scheduling, fundraising and equipment care. Monarch Rugby boasts of determination, collaboration, character, and sportsmanship, and is seeking a coach that possess these same qualities. Practice times for the fall are flexible, 2-3 times a week, and matches every Saturday.

Qualifications:

  • Previous playing and/or coaching experience required
  • Registered and certified with USA Rugby (or willing to acquire certifications and registry)

Responsibilities:

  • Organize weekly practices (general skills, forward/back skills, fitness drills, game strategy)
  • Provide instructions, mentoring, guidance, and feedback to individual players, executive board, and team
  • Attend all league matches and tournaments, or coordinate with an assistant  coach who will travel with us.
  • Knowledge of current USA Rugby laws

  • Travel expenses covered for away games
  • Volunteer Position
