NACRA 7s – Olympic Rugby Qualification – June 13-14, 2015

The USA Rugby Eagles Men’s and Women’s programs have one last shot to book their tickets to Rio and compete at the 2016 Olympics. 18 teams from North America and the Caribbean will compete for their Olympic lives in a Rugby Sevens tournament at WakeMed Soccer Park. The winning men and women’s team will each earn automatic qualification to the 2016 Summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The Women’s Eagles narrowly missed Olympic qualification on the Women’s Sevens Series after a 15-14 loss to England in the third-place match at the Netherland Women’s Sevens. The Women’s Eagles ended the series tied with England with 76 points, ultimately finishing in fifth place following the loss in Amsterdam.

While this is the last chance for the Eagles, there are still other countries working on their qualification as well.
