Transgender women will still be allowed to play women’s rugby at all non-international levels of the game in England for the foreseeable future. The RFU believes more work is needed to assess the science, as well as investigating whether there are safe ways to allow trans women to keep playing the sport they love, rather than ban them from the domestic game. This position, it is understood, is supported by a number of other countries, including the US and Canada.

A few small changes to the rescheduled Six Nations matches, mainly Ireland vs Italy is moved to October 24th and all matches have had their kick-off times adjusted.

After one round of play, Ireland has suspended their Energia Community Series. They have done this in consultation with their local government as an effort to continue curbing the spread of COVID-19.

Round 2 has concluded in England’s Allianz Premier 15s with a three-way tie at the top of table between the Harlequins, Saracens and Loughborough.

Fiji continues their focus on developing female coaches and they’ve just completed a World Rugby level 1 women’s coaching course.

The Indian Rugby Football Union (IRFU) has entered into a three-year agreement with the Odisha state government. This agreement will allow the national men’s and women’s team players to be paid for the first time ever.
Players will be paid for participation in camps and tournaments and the core group of national players have been promised insurance and nutritional support.

Australia’s Charlotte Caslick had recently crossed over to Rugby League and had already made an impact. But an injury to her lumbar spine will require her to recover for at least a month and will rule her out of the rest of the season.
