Old Dominion University, public research institution in Norfolk, Virginia, invites applications for the position of Women’s Club Rugby Head Coach. ODU’s Women’s Club Rugby is a Division II team in the Capital Conference. The student-run organization was established in 2010; our executive board is responsible for logistics, including recruiting, scheduling, fundraising and equipment care. Monarch Rugby boasts of determination, collaboration, character, and sportsmanship, and is seeking a coach that possess these same qualities. Practice times for the fall are flexible, 2-3 times a week, and matches every Saturday.
Qualifications:
- Previous playing and/or coaching experience required
- Registered and certified with USA Rugby (or willing to acquire certifications and registry)
Responsibilities:
- Organize weekly practices (general skills, forward/back skills, fitness drills, game strategy)
- Provide instructions, mentoring, guidance, and feedback to individual players, executive board, and team
- Attend all league matches and tournaments, or coordinate with an assistant coach who will travel with us.
- Knowledge of current USA Rugby laws
