Scrumqueens.com and Akuma join forces

International women’s rugby website www.scrumqueens.com and Akuma Rugby have joined forces to help develop the first ever women’s rugby playing shirt designed by women’s players for women’s players.

Akuma already supply kit to a wide range of women’s rugby sides around the world but are looking to design a dedicated shirt for women to play in week in, week out that is fitted to meet their needs.

Scrumqueens – the only dedicated international women’s rugby site – and Akuma are running a competition which will allow women’s players to design their own jersey with the winners being handed a full set of playing kit for the season ahead – complete with shorts and socks.

All of Akuma’s bespoke playing kit is designed and manufactured in the UK and the brand has sent the questionnaire out  to women’s rugby sides all over the globe.

Akuma will design the new women’s jersey based on feedback they will receive from a questionnaire they have send to women’s rugby teams around the world.

Akuma has also launched a dedicated women’s rugby kit playing website.

Polly Pithers: Operations Director at Akuma said: “We are excited about the opportunity to develop a bespoke women’s playing kit for women’s rugby. We already supply a huge number of women’s teams and players with kit and now we want to hear from them what they specifically want in terms of design and fit.”

Ali Donnelly editor at Scrumqueens.com said: “We’re delighted to be playing a hand in this project. We know that many of our readers are active women’s rugby players around the world so the competition we are running to win an entire set of kit should be very appealing!”
