Royall Rugby and USA 7’s present RugbyH2H – Collegiate Championship Edition

On June 4-5 of this year, 16 of rugby’s top collegiate teams converged on PPL Park in Philadelphia to compete in the 2011 USA Sevens Collegiate Rugby CHampionships. Over the span of two days, rugby fans witnessed the game’s next generation of superstars compete for the National Championship. In the end, Dartmouth was crowned National Champion.

Now, together with the support of NBC and USA Sevens, RugbyH2H has captured the excitement of those two days and converted it into a one-of-a-kind rugby tournament that will be entirely decided by the passion and votes of today’s rugby fans. RugbyH2H will feature fifteen head-to-head battles will pit these same teams against each other in a series of video vs. video battles that will take place in the world’s largest stadium – the Internet. In the end, your votes will crown a new Champion — the 2011 RugbyH2H Collegiate Champion.

Battle 1 : Cal Bears vs. North Carolina Tar Heels
RugbyH2H kicks off with an East Coast vs. West Coast battle between the University of North Carolina Tar Heels and the Golden Bears of the University of California. Cal came into Philly the undisputed favorite, only to be knocked out by smaller, and seemingly hungrier, teams looking for some respect. Now Cal, with the help of its fans, has a chance to bounce back. But to do so, they will have to overcome the passion and fan support the Tar Heels enjoy in every field of play. North Carolina is looking for their serving of respect and redemption — and knocking out the country’s #1 team is just what the UNC faithful ordered.
