from IRB Coaching:

The IRB’s popular coaching website has received a massive boost with the announcement that HSBC has partnered with the innovative resource to ensure that more men, women and children around the world are able to experience and enjoy Rugby by being coached the best-possible techniques.

The innovative website, which is currently available in English, Spanish and Cantonese, has been revamped and offers a number of critical coaching elements with enhanced, video and animation capability as well as expert advice from some of the world’s top coaches and players. It can be found at: www.irbcoaching.com

Key features of this interactive online resource for all levels of the Game include animations, videos, explanation of the six stages of Rugby, an extensive bank of best-practice coaching drills and ground breaking animated drills.

New to the revamped site will be an interactive forum where coaches from all over the world can discuss topical issues.

In addition, the website provides formal course content, such as the beginners guide, the guide to coaching Rugby Sevens and Level 1 coaching while it is also compatible with www.irbpassport.com, the gateway to IRB training and education.

“Rugby is growing at an incredible rate around the world. We now have more than 5.5 million men, women and children participating at elite and community level across every continent,” said IRB Training Manager Mark Harrington.

“This important resource reflects the IRB’s commitment to providing the tools that underpin that growth in every country, at every level. We have launched in three languages but there are ambitious plans to add to the inventory in line with other IRB resources.”

“With this exciting upgrade, we believe the website is now one of the most comprehensive and accessible of its kind in any sport and we are very grateful to HSBC for its support. It is great to be able to benefit from HSBC’s commitment to sport at community level and, particularly, its passion for the continued development of Rugby,” he said.

Giles Morgan, HSBC’s Group Head of Sponsorship and Events, said: “HSBC’s partnership with irbcoaching.com is an important addition to the bank’s commitment to help grow the Game around the world. HSBC is a long-term investor in Rugby at both the elite and the grass-roots levels of the sport with the bank’s genuine objective of helping to develop the sport.”

“Through this new partnership with the International Rugby Board, alongside existing initiatives such as our annual HSBC ARFU Rugby Coaching Tour, the HSBC Penguins International Coaching Academy and the use of our Rugby Ambassadors to lead coaching clinics around the world, HSBC hopes to introduce even more youngsters to the Game, to inspire the next generation of players, and to help improve coaching around the world.”
