USA Rugby Women’s National Team Summer Elite Camp Assembly – June 30th through July 8th

From June 30th through July 8th the top players in the US will gather, along with the All-Americans for a week long assembly. This is a different type of event than we have held in the past. The squad will be split into 3 teams and along with the All-Americans participate in a week long competition where each team plays 3 games. Players will be given the tools to be able to experiment with preparation (physical, mental and nutrition) and recovery to work out what is the best approach for them. The Eagles will also be able to see each player compete multiple times.

One of the goals for the USA Eagles is to be able to build a profile of every player so they know what are their developmental needs. We are in the processes of creating World Class Standards for each position and that will be the model that we will use to assess players. This camp will enable us to continue to build that profile for each player and create an individual development plan.

The week long competition will also serve as the selection vehicle for the fall tour. The top 40 players will be selected and then they will prepare with a regional camp in August before heading on tour in November to play Italy, France and potentially Spain.
