Northeast 7s Academy Women’s Pathway – OPEN TRYOUTS!

The Northeast 7s Academy will be holding tryouts for their inaugural Women’s Program open to any female athlete, college age or older. The tryouts will be hosted in two separate locations; one in the New York area and one in the Boston area. Each session will consist of fitness and skills assessments, as well as a series of live-play scrimmages. Details on location, dates and times are as follows:

New York Area

Date: Monday, June 15th
Times: 8:00pm-10:00pm
Location: Columbia University’s Baker Field in New York City

Boston Area

Date: Wednesday, June 17th
Times: 8:00pm-10:00pm
Location: Brown University’s Berylson Turf Fields in Providence, RI

Additional Information about Northeast Academy

The Northeast 7s Academy, with training squads in New York City and Boston, is a National Development Academy that has been sanctioned by USA Rugby as the official Academy (Men and Women) in the Northeast of America. As a designated pathway to the USA Eagles National Team selection, the program offers previously unprecedented access to the USA Rugby selection committee. The Academy will provide athletes with top level coaching, physical preparation and playing competition to accelerate their personal development as sevens players in line with current USA Eagles High Performance criteria. Specific to the Women’s program, selected players from both training squads (NYC and Boston) will have the opportunity to play in elite level tournaments both domestically and internationally such as (Vegas 7s, Quebec 7s, Tobago 7s) and in a newly formed partnership with American Rugby Pro Training Center, athletes will also have the opportunity to train year round as a resident athlete with Julie McCoy and her staff, at a discounted rate.
