The current standings are as follows: China holds the lead, followed by Kenya in second place, Argentina in third, Uganda in fourth, Belgium in fifth, Poland in sixth, Thailand in seventh, Czechia in eighth, Papua New Guinea in ninth, Hong Kong in tenth, Paraguay in eleventh, and Mexico in twelfth. With one last showdown awaiting in Germany this May, anticipation is at its peak.

In the women’s competition, front-runners China are geared up to face off against Poland, Czechia, and Paraguay in Pool A. Meanwhile, the Dubai runners-up, Kenya, will clash with Belgium, Papua New Guinea, and Hong Kong China in Pool B. Argentina, securing the bronze in Dubai, is all set to take on Uganda, Thailand, and Mexico in Pool C.

Following the Olympic Games format, this competition spans three rounds, with the top four men’s and women’s teams earning coveted spots in the promotion and relegation playoff at the HSBC SVNS 2024 Grand Final in Madrid. The expanded Challenger edition aims to boost global rugby sevens development, featuring representation from all six World Rugby regions. This clear path to promotion allows the top four men’s and women’s teams from the 2024 Challenger to secure their opportunity in the high-stakes relegation playoff at the SVNS Grand Final in Madrid on May 31 – June 2, 2024, competing against the teams ranked ninth to twelfth from HSBC SVNS 2024.
