England stars help Samurai to lift Dubai title

Re-post from Scrumqueens:

Samurai Dubai won the women’s title at the Dubai Sevens, beating France in the final played in front of a huge crowd.

The Samurai team was packed with well known names from the English international set-up with their convincing victory coming with the help of an array of names who competed in the World Cup recently.

The tries came from Emily Scarrat, Jo McGilChrist, Kat Merchant and a kick from Michaela Staniford rounded off the 34-0 win.  Also in the winning side were Nolli Waterman and Amy Turner.

Elsewhere there were also a number of other international sides in action. Brazil were beaten in the Plate Final by the Pink Ba Baas – who could boast in their squad top players such as World Cup winning scrum-half Emma Jenson.
