2011 Women’s Divisions 3 and 4 Collegiate Playoffs

The National Small College Rugby Organization (NSCRO) is pleased to announce the details for the 2011 Women’s Divisions 3 and 4 Collegiate Playoffs. 59 teams will compete in D3 and 22 in D4 aiming for the National title.

Welcome to NSCRO to the new participants from the Great Plains and Minnesota RFUs who have form the new West Region.

Congratulations to the NEWCRC (New England Women’s Collegiate Rugby Conference) on forming the first women’s collegiate division 3 conference recognized as such by USA Rugby.

2. NSCRO Pre-Season Rankings for Division 3 – Issued : Sept. 1, 2011

This is the first time NSCRO has released rankings for D3 Women. The pre-season rankings are predictions. Any club who is not pleased with them merely has to prove they are wrong by their actions on the pitch.

3. NSCRO Playoff Brackets for Divisions 3 and 4 – Issued : Sept. 1, 2011

4. NSCRO Regional Playoff Information
All NSCRO-sponsored (playoff) matches are expected to be played on a field that meets NSCRO size standards (see below):
Length (goal-to-goal): not less than 100 yards and not approx exceeding 110 yards (100m)
Width: not less than 65 yards and not exceeding approx 77 yards (70m)
Ingoal: not less than 10 yards and not approx exceeding 25 yards (22m)

The field shall be lined in accordance with The Plan per the IRB Laws of the Game and provided with goal post pads and sideline markers. Spectator barriers are to be provided on both sides of the field from goal-to-goal no less than 5m from the line-of-touch.

Division 3
Region 1 – New England
The NERFU Champion is the Regional Champion. This match is considered a NERFU match and not a NSCRO-sponsored match.

Region 2 – New York State / New England
NY State RC Champ plays NEWCRC Champ on Nov. 12. Locations for this match being considered are Albany (NY), S. Hadley (MA) and Northampton (MA). The winner is the Regional Champion.
NSCRO Representative: tbd (to be provided by the host Conference – NYSRC or NEWCRC)

Region 3 – East Penn / Met NY
East Penn RU Champ plays Met NY RFU Champ on Nov. 12 at the home field of the Met NY Champ. (In 2012, EPRU Champ will host.) The winner is the Regional Champion.
NSCRO Representative: tbd (to be provided by the Met NY RFU)

Region 4 – West
Top 2 teams from both Great Plains RFU and Minnesota RFU qualify for West Region Championship event on Nov 5-6 at Wayne Rugby Park in Wayne, Nebraska. The winner is the Regional Champion.
NSCRO Representative: Darrin Barner (Great Plains RFU)

Division 4
Region 1 – New England RFU Champion is the Regional Champion.
Region 2 – East Penn RU Champion is the Regional Champion.

5. NSCRO National Championship for Divisions 3 and 4
Hosted by the Philadelphia Women’s RFC. Website: www.pwrfc.org
Dates: Nov. 19-20, 2011
Location: Home field of the South Jersey RFC. Website: www.southjerseyrugby.org/
