WPL WEEK 4 SUMMARY, RESULTS & STANDINGS

With only two weeks left in the season leaders of the Blue and Red Conferences are becoming clear. The Amazons still remain unbeaten and have only allowed twenty six points in four matches. Berkeley moves atop the Red Conference but has Glendale hot on their heels.

Blue Conference
The update sounds very similar to last week, but the team to beat in this conference is the Twin City Amazons.  This week they enjoyed an easy dismantling of Keystone with a final score of 93-0. Not only are the Amazons a team scoring machine, but their discipline on defense is almost scary. Likewise, their ability to score off of 50/50 or transition ball is just as frightening.

Beantown is in second place in the Blue Conference and easily defeated the DC Furies 34-7 this week. Next week the two top teams in the Blue Conference will meet and this time Beantown has the home field advantage over the Amazons. In their first meeting the Amazons grabbed the W but it was one of the closest scores yet.

Red Conference
This week Glendale survived another close call as the came out on top of the San Diego Surfers 24-13. Glendale Flyhalf Hannah Stolba continued her precision kicking as she slotted two penalty kicks, two drop goals and several conversions on their way to the win. Glendale stays on top of the Blue Conference by point differential and the Surfers move into third place.

The All Blues are looking more and more menacing as they move from third place to first place this week with a win over New York 48-0. Berkeley forwards Phoebe Boone and Lucy Croy accounted for two tries each and Flyhalf Ruth Bryson slotted five conversions and one penalty kick. Next week the Surfers will host Berkeley at home…
