D1 CLUB WEEK 5 SUMMARY, RESULTS & STANDINGS

D1 action continued this week with only a few ripples of unexpected results.

DISCLAIMER: I check the standings and results of each CR on Mondays, if the info hasn’t been updated quickly, I can’t report on it.

CR1
ORSU becomes the first club from this region to punch their ticket to Nationals with a victory over Belmont 73-7. The Seattle Breakers are hot on their heels as they defeated Tempe 36-12. In other action the Seattle Breakers defeated Tempe 36-12. This region will only receive two seeds, so it seems that the Seattle Breakers will take that spot.

CR2
This week buttoned up the three CR2 seeds as Detroit defeated the Austin Valkyries 58-0 and Chicago defeated Black Ice 24-19.

Detroit currently sits on top of the rankings (point differential) with Chicago NS in second and Chicago takes third. Even though there is a week left in CR2 action, these teams will represent CR2. NOTE: The top two rankings could change as there is one week left.

CR3
No surprises this week as Atlanta defeates NOVA 20-5, Boston tops Albany 40-12 and Philly gets the best of Providence 31-15. No change in the rankings either with Atlanta on top, NOVA in second and Philly hangs on for third.

There is technically two weeks left of league action, but the Oct 20 match between Albany and Village Lions won’t change the rankings. However, Boston faces Philly and that could change up the rankings depending on who is victorious.

  1. Couple of comments, CR1 only has 2 seeds this year but article states a fight for 3rd seed is ocurring. Also, technically, Chicago North Shore is in first place in CR2 because tie in points goes to head-to-head match up first according to the official CR2 guidelines linked to your website:

Ties in the standings will be broken in the following order:• Win-Loss record in head-to-head matches• Best point differential (Points for less points against)• Best try differential (Tries for less tries against)• Most points scored• Most tries scored• Toss of a coin

    • Oh man, this cough medecine is going to my head…sorry about that. Updated CR1 summary to emphasize that they only have two seeds.

Also, already updated the CR2 as well, Chicago NS will more than likely end up on top, rankings are not finalized yet.

      Thanks!
