2023 USA Club Rugby XVs National Championships Highlights

The 2023 USA Club Rugby XVs National Championships took place in St. Charles, Missouri over three days. Here are the highlights of the tournament:

Day One:

  • In the women’s D1 semifinals, NOVA (Northern Virginia) defeated Metropolis Valkyries with a score of 37-15.
  • Chicago Griffins won against New York Old Blue in the men’s D1 semifinals, but later had to forfeit the victory due to an ineligible player.

Day Two:

  • In the men’s D2 semifinals, Denver Barbarians defeated Boston Irish Wolfhounds 15-12, and Colorado Springs Grizzlies won against North Bay with a score of 35-34.
  • Knoxville Minx secured a victory over the Albuquerque Atomic Sisters in the women’s D2 semifinals, while Austin Blacks triumphed over Tucson Magpies in the men’s D3 semifinals.

Day Three:

  • The men’s D3 National Championship saw Austin Blacks emerge victorious with an 18-14 win over Colorado Springs Grizzlies.
  • In the women’s D2 National Championship, Knoxville Minx claimed the title by defeating Severn River with a score of 33-22.
  • Denver Barbarians emerged as the men’s D2 National Champions, defeating Boise United 49-34.
  • San Diego Surfers dominated the women’s D1 National Championship, beating NOVA 45-22.
  • Austin Blacks secured the men’s D1 National Championship with a 38-14 victory over Old Blue.

The tournament crowned the following national champions:

  • Men’s D1: Austin Blacks
  • Women’s D1: San Diego Surfers
  • Men’s D2: Denver Barbarians
  • Women’s D2: Knoxville Minx
  • Men’s D3: Austin Blacks
