2024 USA Club XVs Rugby National Championships – Schedule, Viewing Options, and Results – May 17-19

The USA Rugby Club National Championships are set to captivate fans from May 17-19, 2024, at the Round Rock Multi-purpose Complex in Austin, TX. Organized the USA Rugby Senior Club Committee (USAR SCC) and hosted  by the Austin Blacks, this tournament promises thrilling matches across multiple divisions, showcasing top talent in American rugby.

Women’s Divisions

In the Women’s Division 1 (WD1), the Final Four features powerhouse teams battling for supremacy. NOVA will take on the San Diego Surfers, while the Utah Vipers face off against Pittsburgh Forge. Reigning champions, the San Diego Surfers, are determined to defend their title against these formidable opponents. These matches are scheduled for Friday, with NOVA versus San Diego at 2:00 PM and Utah Vipers versus Pittsburgh Forge at 1:00 PM.

The Women’s Division 2 (WD2) also promises excitement, especially with last year’s champions, Knoxville Minx, no longer in the running. The lineup includes Phoenixville against Sacramento Amazons and Tampa Bay Krewe versus South Buffalo. New champions will emerge, and the initial clashes will take place on Saturday, starting with Phoenixville versus Sacramento at 12:00 PM followed by Tampa Bay against South Buffalo at 1:00 PM.

Men’s Divisions

The Men’s Division 1 (MD1) features intense matchups, with NOVA clashing with Belmont Shore and Dallas RFC facing St. Louis Bombers. These games are scheduled back-to-back on Friday, starting at 3:00 PM for NOVA versus Belmont and 4:00 PM for Dallas versus St. Louis. Notably, the Austin Blacks are the defending champions in this division; however, they faced a stunning upset by Dallas RFC, adding an extra layer of anticipation to see how Dallas will perform this year following their remarkable victory.

In Men’s Division 2 (MD2), teams like Boston Irish and Miami will try to outmaneuver their opponents, Oceanside and Indianapolis, respectively. The battles commence on Saturday, with Boston Irish taking on Oceanside at 2:00 PM and Miami against Indianapolis at 3:00 PM. It’s worth noting that the Denver Barbarians were the champions last year, setting a high benchmark for this season’s contenders who are eager to claim the title for themselves.

Men’s Division 3 (MD3) includes host team Austin Blacks, who are the defending champions, playing against Red River Ruffians, and Charles River competing against Colusa. These matches are slated for Saturday morning, with the Austin Blacks game at 10:00 AM and Charles River at 11:00 AM. The Austin Blacks aim to defend their title on their home turf, adding an extra level of excitement to the competition.

Final Showdowns

Championship Sunday will see winners from previous days go head-to-head to claim the national titles across all divisions. The first match starts at 10:00 AM with MD3 finalists, followed by the WD2 and WD1 finals, and concluding with the MD2 and MD1 title games.
